Meet The WLCU Youth Committee

The WLCU Sydney has a Main Committee as well as a specialised Youth Committee which is predominantly focussed on catering to the interests and supporting the needs of the younger generations of our community.

CEDRIC BARAKAT
President of the WLCU Youth Committee

Career:
Cedric is currently studying for a Bachelor of Engineering and a Bachelor of Laws.
Interesting Fact:

MIA CHAAYA
Executive Committee Member for the WLCU Youth Committee

Career:
Mia is currently studying for a Bachelor of Engineering and a Bachelor of Laws.
Interesting Fact:
Mia completed Grade 8 Classical Piano while she was in Year 10 at High School.
Town/village of Lebanese origin:
Aamik, Beqaa Valley
Favourite Lebanese dish:
Knafeh

ISABELLA GEHA
Secretary of the WLCU Youth Committee

Career:
Isabella has undergraduate qualifications in Psychology and English, with Honours in English, and is currently completing her Master of Teaching (Secondary) at the University of New South Wales (UNSW).
Interests:
Isabella has a passion for literature, Khalil Gibran included of course! On her last trip to Lebanon in 2017, she was lucky enough to visit his house in Bsharri.
Town/village of Lebanese origin:
Mother’s side is from Beirut and Father’s side is from Bishmizzine.
Favourite Lebanese Dish:
Kousa Mahshi, exactly how her Teita makes it!

WERRDAN KHOURY
Executive Committee Member for the WLCU Youth Committee

You will often see Werrdan as our wonderful MC and host at WLCU Sydney functions.
Career:
Werrdan is a Lawyer and Managing Partner at Benjamin & Khoury Solicitors & Attorneys.
Interests:
Werrdan loves theatre, poetry and rock and roll dancing.
Town/ village of Lebanese origin:
Barrhalyoun
Favourite Lebanese Dish:
Laham al faham!

STEPHANIE WIGAN
Executive Committee Member for the WLCU Youth Committee.
Member of the WLCU Editorial Committee.

Career:
Stephanie is a Principal Lawyer for the NSW Government. Stephanie holds a Bachelor of Arts (English) and a Master of Laws [BA/LLB, LLM] attained from the University of New South Wales (UNSW).
Interests:
Stephanie enjoys gardening, scenic walks, and crochet.
Town/ village of Lebanese origin:
Batroun (The Oeajan family surname was translated to Wigan with migration to Australia during the early 1920’s).
Favourite Lebanese Dish:
Malfouf Mahshi (Cabbage Rolls) warm with extra lemon 😊
