On 11 April 2024 the World Lebanese Cultural Union (WLCU) of Sydney in conjunction with the WLCU Sydney Foundation Ltd, presented its Annual HSC Distinguished Achievers Awards to our Australian Lebanese youth who have achieved outstanding results in 2023 HSC and International Baccalaureate as well as in their extracurricular activities, including in community services, leadership, sports and the arts.

The awards event was held in the spectacular function room at the offices of EG in Governor Phillip Tower in the heart of Sydney’s business district. It was a fun-filled evening where guests were treated to delicious food and drink and superb music by violinist Dominic Azzi. The formal ceremony was officiated by our well-versed MC Mia Chaaya (Youth Committee Vice-President). Our WLCU President Dr Shane Geha addressed the guests and imparted several life wisdoms on students.

The event was proud to recognise 23 distinguished high achieving students, 4 of whom achieved an ATAR above 99, placing them in the top 1% of NSW’s HSC students. The night’s highest achieving students, receiving a top ATAR of 99, 99.15, 99.7 and 99.7, were Laurena Fadel, Abigail Arrage, Isaac Zoud, and Adrian Nader respectively.
